Hacienda Izamal is a stunning one-of-a-kind private hideaway built and furnished in the Colonial Mexican tradition. Centrally located, this new three bedroom, three bath villa is within easy walking distance of the finest in-town restaurants, shops & grocery stores.
Totally surrounded by bougainvillea covered privacy walls, the wrought iron front door opens onto spectacular tropical gardens. Stroll down the winding cobblestone path that leads to the main residence, and you might just catch sight of the brilliant hues of hummingbirds darting from blossom to blossom.
The azure blue hand-tiled pool sits just in front of the double French doors that welcome you into the Hacienda. Slip into the warm waters where you can take a seat on one of the in-pool benches and sip on your favorite icy beverage. Stairs built into the pool allow access to both a deep and shallow end. Two poolside palapas are connected to the main stereo system in the house, permitting your favorite music to be piped outdoors. You may just have found the perfect spot to relax, unwind and leave the madness behind.
The open concept and architectural design of Hacienda Izamal take advantage of the cooling northern trade winds, but if the heat becomes a little intense, overhead fans and individual thermostatically controlled air conditioners will promise to keep you comfortable.
The first level of the villa is comprised of a well-equipped modern kitchen, the adjacent dining room plus an intimate gathering spot for "just catching up". Step through the dining room doors into your own private retreat, a large screened-in outdoor palapa-covered living room. Many of our renters tell us this is their favorite space... A great place to kick back, sway in a hammock and watch the iguanas sun themselves on the walls. If you wish, you can even cut up some banana and toss it into the backyard for the iguanas to eat. It's great fun watching them crawl down the walls for a treat. Just make sure you have a camera close at hand!
This living area also has a pull-out double futon.... There's nothing like sleeping outdoors in the tropics. You will find two bedrooms, both with queen sized beds, on the first level of the Hacienda. One bedroom has an en-suite bath, and the other bathroom can be accessed in the hall off of the second bedroom.
The two downstairs baths and the upstairs master bathroom, sinks and showers, are all custom decorated in handmade talavera tiles, and the pressurized soft water system allows for all of the comforts of home.
Ascend the winding staircase to the second floor where you will find a computer alcove complete with high speed internet service... Just in case you need to access your email while on vacation. The master suite, outfitted with king sized bed, can be found just off of this alcove. Step into the master bath and delight in the extraordinary hand tiled tub built specially for two.
The water purification system throughout the property (both ultra violet light and reverse osmosis) allows for drinking water from any faucet and provides purified ice in the freezer. Local phone service is offered, as is a safe in which to lock away your valuables. The CD-tape player stereo system will project melodies to three areas of the villa. Each of the three bedrooms come equipped with DVD player and cable TV. You may want to select one of the many books from our reading library, put together a puzzle or play a board game.
Divers and snorkelers alike will appreciate the outdoor shower and dive rinse tank area.
Our maid Marissa will pamper you throughout your stay (Sundays and Mexican holidays off) and optional chef service is available upon request for an additional fee.
Come to Cozumel - Scuba, Snorkel, Swim, Search for Seashells. Cozumel has whatever your heart desires! Browse the shops for bargains, stroll the square in the evening, sip Margaritas at sunset, snooze in a swaying hammock. Take a sub ride, try your hand at deep sea fishing, parasail, tour the ruins, drive an ATV on a jungle tour, play a round of golf or mini golf... Or just "hang out".
